Greetings From Andersonville!

I have been compiling this album for about six months. It is composed of songs used in Wes Anderson movies that did not appear on the soundtrack CDs, plus covers of songs used in Wes Anderson movies. This is Volume One, mostly focusing on Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums, though there are a few Bottle Rocket tracks and one from The Darjeeling Express. (I imagine Volume Two will be mostly Bowie.)

Tracklisting and liner notes included in the zip.

02 - The Rolling Stones - 2000 Man
03 - Calexico - Alone Again Or
04 - Piano Is The Remedy - Look At Me

The secret track induced just the right level of confusion. I liken the effect of having to recognize a song w/o lyrics to eating a hot pepper. Too hard, and it just burns you, too easy and you just get an unpleasant surprise. Just right, and you get that painful struggle to regain control followed by a nice satisfied buzz. It doesn't hurt that it is probably my favorite song from the movie.

Just lucky it worked out that way. I had been hoping I could find a good cover of that, but all the covers I found were of the loud raucous version that was released first, rather than the version used in the film.

This is one of my favorite mixes ever, of all the compilations I've put together through the years. Tell your friends -- I think this one has a chance to be appreciated by a large audience.
