Howdy, all, and Merry Merry Christmas. I'd planned to do a megapost today, wherein I reupped all the old zips in a file format that everyone could open, and then zipped up all the single tracks plus linked to this old Christmas post I put up in March, but I ran out of time. (It'll happen before the end of the month, though.) So here's a post written and curated by my excellent brother, Stephen. (You'll recall that he also contributed to this blog earlier, in the form of a picture.) Stephen wants to tell you about Meco's Christmas In The Stars: Star Wars Christmas Album...
The complete album was released by RSO records on LP and cassette in November 1980, to cash in on the increasingly popular Star Wars saga, but not unlike the Muppet christmas album (with John Denver) they
really didn't have enough solely Star Wars songs to make a full album. The album is notable for featuring the first professional recording of Jon Bon Jovi (credited as John Bongiovi), who sings lead vocals on the song "R2-D2 We Wish You A Merry Christmas." Jon's cousin Tony Bongiovi co-produced the album and ran the recording studio, where Jon was
working sweeping floors at the time.
Note: The answer to the question posed in this song is answered in song number 7 ["Merry, Merry Christmas"], just so you will keep listening I guess. Not a great album and probably not even good by most people's standards, but a Star Wars fan should listen to it once.
Mark here again. Apparently this album has been out of print for a while; the cheapest used version on Amazon is almost $70, so I won't give you a buy link. I wish I'd known this back when I bought people this CD for Christmas -- I'd have put a couple in a box...
Also, the answer hidden in track seven is... are you sitting down? A brush.
