To round out a month of double Stag posts, here are two versions by early gods of rock and roll. Dion and Jerry Lee Lewis both exuded the rock and roll attitude early, about as early as anyone did. And they both really power through this song.
Dion (free of The Belmonts here) barks like a dog, and changes lyrics like crazy. ("It was the end!") Jerry Lee can't remember Lloyd Price's name, but he pounds the song out all the same, with classic "Killer" boogie-woogie piano.

Keep 'em coming, big boss man.
These are becoming one of the things i look forward to on the weekend.
I've got ever so many more versions left. Though, now that June's over, we'll be back to one a week. (That is, until I digitize my copy of Lloyd Price's nonviolent version, at which time I'll post both that and his hit version.)
I'll also post a zip file or two soon, for people who want to catch up with fewer clicks.
i check out your site far more often than just Saturdays, but you keep posting these gems and you've got me hooked.
