This is a live recording from 1977, with Mike Bloomfield playing a rootsy acoustic blues version of Stag. (This show -- and album -- also included his version of "Frankie and Johnny.") Note that it's not even recognizably a version of Stag till after two minutes in, at which point it becomes much faster.
This album is apparently long out of print, and the cheapest copy I could find online is about $25, so the buy link is, once again, wishful thinking.

i really dig this one for it's deviation. That's some good Gee-tar strummin' there.
Yeah, it's great, isn't it? Bloomfield apparently worked on hundreds of albums, mostly as a sessionman (the link to his name should tell you more), so you possibly already know some of his stuff.
I may not be able to post a Stag this Saturday, if the motel we're at doesn't have a wifi system that plays well with others. See my next post for details.
